Russian Dota 2 pro Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko has got his team, Virtus Pro, dished out of the Dota Pro Circuit regional finals in Eastern Europe, reports Dot Esports.

The disqualification came after he during a break in an ongoing match drew a clear Z-sign on the mini-map in the game. His teammates quickly tried to cover the picture, but commentators had already pointed out what the picture represented and the increase was quickly criticized by viewers.

Ivan Moskalenko has released a video in which he says that he did not intend it to be a Z, but he does not apologize.

The Z sign has become a symbol of supporting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The display of the symbol has previously led to suspensions and other sanctions in several sports, including gymnastics and swimming.
