As Apple prepares to announce the new MacBook Air, Microsoft has released an updated Surface Laptop Go 2 with an 11th Gen Intel processor and an improved webcam.
The new Surface Laptop Go 2 features a 12.4-inch LCD touchscreen, full-size keyboard with trackpad, and Windows 11.
The gadget is equipped with a new 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and a 128 GB drive in the base configuration. In its press release, Microsoft makes a direct comparison between the Surface Laptop Go 2 and the MacBook Air, claiming that the Surface offers “30% more key travel than an Apple laptop.”
Battery life has increased from 13 to 13.5 hours with normal use. Other features include WiFi 802.11ax, USB-C and USB-A ports, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack and Surface Connect power port. In addition, Microsoft has updated the webcam, however, the resolution remains the same – 720p.
Prices for the new Surface Laptop Go 2 start at $599, which is well below the most affordable $999 MacBook Air.
