In the past, Drive only indexed the /Drive folder under /home, which led to the fact that /Photos and other folders located in parallel positions could not be seen in Drive, so everyone could only use the corresponding package to view, Manage the files in it.
And in Drive 3.1, youJust select[My Files]in[Team Folders]of[Synology Drive Management Console]and then click[Convert]to expand the index range of Drive to the entire /home directory.
After completion, your photos in Photos and music in Audio Station can also be managed and browsed in Drive.
ps. This operation will cause Drive to start indexing a large number of files, which will take up system performance for a period of time. It is recommended that you do it in your free time.
How to add a team folder to Drive so that your Drive can see all the files in the NAS that you have permission to?
By default, shared folders parallel to /home are not visible in Drive.

But we only need to select the desired folder in[Synology Drive Management Console]>[Team Folder][Enable]and confirm.
Then you can see it in Drive
Through this operation, Drive can manage almost all files on the NAS, and you can only select your frequently used folders to avoid too many folders.
The new version of Drive APP Beta is close to the previous concept version of the application Drive X in experience, and supports iOS.The previously well-received new interface and category browsing have been retained, and the function of customizing synchronization tasks has also been added.

And the new version of the APP can also realize photo backup and file synchronization, which can fully cover most of the needs on the mobile phone.
ps. The photo backup function will repeatedly back up the photos that have been backed up by Synology Photos. It is recommended to choose one of the two. If you are already using Photos’ photo backup, it is recommended to continue to use it, just do not turn on Drive’s photo backup function.
