Analysts at IDC predict that global smartphone shipments will drop by 3.5% to 1.31 billion units in 2022, but Apple will hardly be affected.

Previously, IDC analysts predicted the growth of the smartphone market by 1.6% in 2022. Experts note that Apple will hardly be affected by the decrease in shipments, since the company is confidently controlling its supply chain, and the iPhones themselves are in a more expensive segment and are not as affected by macroeconomic problems such as inflation.

Weakening demand, inflation, supply chain restrictions and geopolitical tensions are affecting all smartphone vendors, leading to layoffs. Even major electronics manufacturers such as Samsung and Apple have slashed orders. The problems will probably be resolved by the end of the year, and the market will recover in 2023 with a 5% growth.
