IT House May 2 news, according to Windows Latest, the Windows 11 Sun Valley 2 update is set to refresh the Task Manager interface with a modern look, which is more in line with the rest of the WinUI implementation of the entire operating system. Included in the latest Windows 11 preview is a new colorful task manager.

Unlike the taskbar, which was rewritten from scratch, Microsoft didn’t create a new UWP task manager for Windows 11. Instead, the company brought a WinUI-style look to the Task Manager’s existing Win32 framework. It’s also one way Microsoft plans to revamp Windows.

As the picture shows, Microsoft’s new Task Manager finally feels Windows 11-style.The company has replaced tabs for switching between processes, performance and other sections with a hamburger menu. The hamburger menu appears on the left.

The sliding menu on the left makes the Task Manager more like most modern Windows 11 apps.

Task Manager also gained support for dark mode and system accent colors.

Like Windows 10, Windows 11 uses “accent colors” for various screen elements. You’ll need to choose an accent color from the Personalize tab, or you can also choose “Automatically choose an accent color from my background” to automatically match the color to the background.

Accent colors apply to the Start menu, taskbar, notification center, buttons, and other areas of the operating system. The same accent color feature is now heading to Task Manager, which supports most colors, but the company says it will only work on the Processes tab, at least for now.

Due to accessibility and readability issues, accent colors are currently not available for tabs such as performance.

Microsoft didn’t mention other tweaks to the Task Manager, and the builds in the Windows 11 Build 22610 preview appear to be early days because they’re not quite ready yet. Microsoft is reportedly planning to introduce some additional features into the app.

For example, Task Manager is getting new sections to display dedicated information about Application Health and Battery Health.

Given the modular nature of the operating system, it is also expected that additional features will be added when feature updates are released to the public.

During the webcast, Microsoft developers said that this is not the final design, so Windows 11’s new task manager will get more design improvements and features.
