With Sonic Frontiers, a promising new part of the long-standing Jump’n’Run series is in the works, but it has recently become very quiet. Is the planned release this year in danger?
To date, SEGA has only released a single trailer for the potential new series hit Sonic Frontiers, and in general it has become pretty quiet about the new title. Is that a cause for concern? The official answer to this question is: No, not at all.
Although there has only been a trailer for the game so far, it can still be assumed that the title will be released in autumn 2022 as planned; there is currently no concrete release date for the time being.
Katie Chrzanowski, SEGA of America’s social media manager, made the reassuring statement. At the same time, it also promises that there will be news about the title “soon”.
“I see a lot of people asking about Sonic Frontiers; we don’t have any Frontiers news today, but don’t worry, it’s coming soon,” Chrzanowksi said. “It will continue to be released this fall, so of course we’ll have more news for you this year.”
The statement was made as part of the first episode of Season 6 of Sonic Official, a livestream series covering all things Sonic. Sonic Frontiers was previously confirmed at the Game Awards in December last year.
