Sina Technology News Beijing time on the morning of June 1, according to reports, Apple will introduce a series of new feature updates for the iPhone and iPad in the upcoming iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, both of which are expected to be released on June 6, Beijing time. Released during the keynote speech at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on July 7.
According to reports,Changes to the iPhone include updates to the Notifications, Messages and Health apps.Apple also rolled out new notification features last year, including aggregating notifications into a summary at specific times of the day, and it also introduced a new focus mode that limits the number of notifications at a specific time. Messaging applications are expected to add new voice capabilities.
Meanwhile, new features in the Health app will work with the iPhone and Apple Watch.
According to reports, Apple will add new widgets to the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro that support the always-on display. This allows widgets on the iPhone to be seen even when the phone is on the desktop. And now the iPhone screen dims when idle. But the always-on display feature has become a common feature on Android phones.
Apple’s new phones typically arrive in the fall, though, so consumers may have to wait a few more months for a phone with the feature.
There is also news that Apple will add new iPad multi-function options. Last year, the iPad greatly simplified the ability to run two apps at the same time, but some users want to be able to run more apps in different windows, just like the Mac.
Apple usually releases a new system at WWDC, then tests it for users in beta form, and finally releases the official version.
Apple is also expected to announce the new MacBook Air at WWDC.
An Apple spokesman has yet to comment.
