IT House May 1 news, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple canceled plans to add a body temperature sensor to the Apple Watch Series 7, but the feature may appear in the Apple Watch Series 8.

In the latest tweet, Ming-Chi Kuo explained that Apple initially intended to provide a temperature measurement function for the “Apple Watch Series 7” series, but the plan was delayed because the temperature algorithm it developed failed to meet the requirements before it went on sale.

He believes that Apple’s “Apple Watch Series 8”, which will be launched in the second half of this year, may be equipped with a body temperature monitoring function, provided that “the algorithm can meet Apple’s high standards for mass production.”

Ming-Chi Kuo added that Samsung is currently facing this problem as well. But unlike previous media reports, he believes that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 in the second half of this year may not support body temperature measurement due to algorithm limitations.

It is said that Apple has encountered some problems in body temperature measurement before, especially the body surface temperature can not be accurately measured due to rapid changes in the environment, and because smart watches cannot use hardware to monitor core body temperature, this function relies heavily on for accurate algorithms.

Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman have both discussed the 2022 Apple Watch and body temperature monitoring functions before, but the revelations related to this function have been basically confirmed recently. His remarks today will also be confirmed with the unveiling of the “Apple Watch Series 8” later this year.
