And the trailer is … to say the least … interesting.
Yu Suzuki is best known as the creator of Shenmue, but he has also dipped his toes into a lot of other genres. One of these is 3D shoot ’em ups, where he enriched the world with Space Harrierseries. Now he is back in the genre with the new game Air Twisterand much is undeniably recognizable from just Space Harrier.
The trailer is an interesting story to say the least, with wonderfully misplaced music, geese that would make Nils Holgersson himself green with envy and an enemy gallery that includes everything from vicious geometric shapes to flying dragon skeletons.
The game is coming Apple Arcade on June 24, and no other platforms have been mentioned. However, it is not uncommon for Apple Arcade games to be released elsewhere eventually, and if Air Twister turns out to be good, we can only hope that this will also be the case.
