It was during CinemaCon that the movie Borderlands showed up. Well, shown is a big word. The shadows of the characters have been shown is actually fairer. If, at first glance, we see that the chara-design seems to be respected, we will still wait to see the face of the costumes.

In the cast, Cate Blanchett will play Lilith, Jamie Lee Curtis will play Patricia Tannis and Kevin Hart will be Roland. Accustomed to comedies, he will portray a serious character here.
To their sides, Ariana Greenblat will perform Tiny Tina, Edgar Ramirez will be Atlas, Gina Gershon will play Moxxi (RIP the cleavage), Janina Gavankar will play Commander Knoxx (daughter of General Knoxx?) and Florian Munteanu will play Krieg. We can say that he has the physique for the job. Finally, it is Jack Black who will lend his voice to the irritating Claptrap, icon of the saga. And I find, personally, this judicious choice.

As for the synopsis:

Lilith, an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of the universe’s most powerful SOB, Atlas. Lilith forms an alliance with an unexpected team – Roland, a former elite mercenary, now desperate for redemption – Tiny Tina, a savage preteen demolitionist – Krieg, Tina’s muscular and rhetorical protector – Tannis, the scientist with a tenuous grip on sanity and Claptrap, a constantly wise robot. These unlikely heroes must battle alien monsters and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power. The fate of the universe may be in their hands, but they will fight for something more: for each other.

At the beginning of 2020, we learned that the film was going to be produced by the firm Lionsgate, directed by Eli Roth and with a screenplay written by Craig Mazin. We can expect a high degree of “humor” from such visionaries to bring the quality jokes of Borderlands games to the big screen. No release date has yet been announced.

If later you don’t want to take the risk of losing 8 to 14€ in a cinema ticket to see this future masterpiece, you’re really embittered.
