Belgium international Axel Witsel has confirmed that he is leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season. The midfielder joined the Bundesliga side in 2018 but media speculation had been rife that the club had decided not to extend the 33-year-old’s deal. “We are conceding too many goals, we have to improve that next season,” he told reporters after Saturday’s 4-3 home defeat by Bochum. “I say ‘we’ but I won’t be here next season.” There was no word on his next move.
