While the Epic Games Store is still giving away the sandbox game Just Die Already and the surreal mutant adventure game Paradigm this week, the next free title is already known. From May 3rd, Epic Games will be giving away the strategy game Terraforming Mars. This is an adaptation of the popular board game.
Weekly free games will continue to be available on the Epic Games Store. This week, players can still pick up DoubleMoose Games’ sandbox title Just Die Already and the slightly different point and click adventure Paradigm. The two games are still available until May 3 at 5 p.m. It is already known which game will follow the two weird titles.
Epic Games is giving away a board game adaptation
After Just Die Already and Paradigm things are getting a little more serious as players will then be able to pick up Terraforming Mars as a free game from the Epic Games Store. This is the video game adaptation of the well-known board game. Terraforming Mars is free to claim from May 3rd to May 9th.
In Terraforming Mars, corporations have started turning Mars into a habitable planet. Players run one of these corporations and must use resources and technologies to get the highest terraform score possible. For example, the temperature or the oxygen content must be regulated or oceans must be created. During terraforming, more and more people move from Earth to Mars.
The video game is based on the strategy board game by Swedish game designer Jacob Fryxelius. The game from 2016 is designed for up to five players and was awarded the German Games Prize in 2017. The video game adaptation was released for PC on Steam in October 2018 by Asmodee Digital. The title is now also available for iOS and Android.
