10. The Great Pyramids of Giza
The great pyramids of giza are one of the greatest architectural marvels of ancient Egypt. They are even among the most spectacular structures ever built by man. This set of pyramids considered funerary monuments is located in the Giza Necropolis, on the Giza Plateau. The first of these is that of King Djoser of the Third Dynasty. It was built around 27 centuries BC within the Saqqara necropolis. The Great Pyramid, as it is known today, was such a gigantic monument that it held the title of the tallest structure built by man for 3,871 years. In Giza, one can see three large pyramids. Two are dedicated to Queen Hénoutsen and Queen Meritites, both wives of Pharaoh Cheops, whose Egyptian name is Khoufou. The last pyramid was dedicated to Queen Hetep-Heres who was the mother of the pharaoh. Also worth having: this ancient Egyptian pyramid complex has been listed as a World Heritage Site since 1979. Have you ever seen them?
