AvtoVAZ started producing LADA Granta Classic without airbags and ABS — Wylsacom

AVTOVAZ resumed production of cars in Togliatti, as reported by factory press office. So far, only LADA Granta is assembled at the plant.

The plant started production of the car in one version – Classic’22. The press service of the plant reports that “this model is designed to ensure the maximum possible localization of the car, eliminating the impact of a shortage of imported components.” Because of this, the car lost airbags and ABS.

Standard equipment includes 14-inch wheels with decorative caps, a four-speaker audio system, ISOFIX child seat mounts, power steering and power windows. Also, the car received painted door moldings, heated mirrors and their electric drive – decorative elements inherent in exclusively expensive versions of LADA Granta. As an option, you can install 15-inch alloy wheels.

The car runs on a 90 hp engine. With. Apparently, this is a 1.6-liter 8-valve engine, previously available in the cheapest versions of Grants.

It is not yet known if the absence of ABS and airbags are the only simplifications or if there are other limitations. For example, it is known that the Customs Union has already approved the regulations for lowering environmental standards from Euro-5 to Euro-2. It was also reported that these Grants would not have the ERA-GLONASS system, but there is no information about this in the press release.

The price has not yet been named. However, AvtoVAZ reports that it will be the cheapest new car on the Russian market. The release date is also not called.
