The original is of course the basis for the recently released remake of Capcom’s Resident Evil 4.
Nevertheless, one or the other should change, as the company announces. This applies to the story of the game, for example.
A reinterpretation of Resident Evil 4
As Capcom announces, the remake should “preserve the essence of the original”, but at the same time deliver a “reinterpreted storyline” and a “modernized gameplay” using the RE engine.
However, Capcom has not yet explained in detail what the reinterpretation of the story in Resident Evil 4 Remake looks like.
More Resident Evil 4 Remake news:
“Resident Evil 4 follows Leon S. Kennedy six years after his hellish experiences of the Raccoon City biological catastrophe,” it reads. “Because of his extraordinary determination, he was recruited as an agent reporting directly to the President of the United States. With the experience of numerous missions under his belt, Leon is tasked with rescuing the President’s recently kidnapped daughter.”
“Leon tracks them down in a remote European village, but from the moment they make contact, he finds that the local population is zealous beyond reason.”
According to Capcom, the remake should offer a gaming experience “that lives up to the promise of the original release”. For this, many developers of the remake of part two are returning.
“Fans and first-time players alike can enjoy both the new and the familiar as the RE engine amplifies the creative direction of the original to tell an even darker and more disturbing story,” says Capcom.
Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released on March 24, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
