Guinness Records certified the world’s oldest dog, a 22-year-old toy terrier in the United States: eating only cat food for many years
On May 31, the Guinness Book of Records posted a photo of the world’s oldest dog.
This is a Toy Fox Terrier born on March 28, 2000, named Pebbles, and is now 22 years old.
According to the owner, Julie Gregory from South Carolina, one of Pebbles’ hobbies is to immerse himself in country music and fall asleep.
It is reported that Pebbles has given birth to three litters of 24 puppies, but his “spouse” Rocky, who was also a toy terrier, died in 2017.
Interestingly, Pebbles has been eating cat food since 2012, following the advice of a veterinarian who stated that cat food has higher meat protein than dog food. Now, Pebbles is in very good health.
Previously, the title of the world’s oldest dog belonged to a Chihuahua named Toby Keith. However, it is 21 years old and Julie Gregory thinks after seeing the media report that he should try to win the title to his dog Pebbles.
Generally speaking, even for a small dog, over 20 years old is equivalent to a human centenarian.
