In anticipation of the imminent start of the WWDC 2022 conference, interesting details about Apple’s new operating system for AR / VR headset called realityOS have appeared on the Web.
Designer Parker Ortolani noted that back on December 8, 2021, Apple filed for the trademark “realityOS” through the shell company Realityo Systems LLC. Apple didn’t appear anywhere in the documents themselves, but the address of Realityo Systems LLC matches the location of another shell company, with which the iPhone maker previously registered several macOS names.
The documents state that realityOS falls into the categories “peripheral devices”, “software” and “wearable computing equipment”.
Interestingly, the international trademark filing deadline is June 8, 2022, just two days after the main WWDC presentation. Based on this, we can assume that Apple will indeed announce a new operating system in early June.
Earlier this year, Apple accidentally mentioned realityOS in App Store update logs, which somewhat confirmed the existence of the operating system.
Now it remains to wait until June 6 to see what kind of surprise Apple has prepared for us.
