Valve has now started to roll out a new one software update (Steam OS 3.2) to its Steam Deck portable slot machine.

Several users have previously complained that the Steam Decks fan may be loud. Something that the new update promises to fix.

The update will introduce a new fan curve that makes the fan smarter and more responsive to what is happening on and in Steam Deck. The fan should also be generally quieter, especially with low use.

According to Valve, the update will be tested to a large extent and the company is also working on making further improvements.

Anyone who prefers the fan’s old BIOS-controlled functionality can switch back to it under System and Settings.
