New Jersey on Saturday reported 4,053 COVID-19 confirmed positive tests and 15 deaths as cases have leveled off at the start of the holiday weekend. The state’s seven-day average for confirmed cases was 3,731 on Saturday, down 6% from a week ago and up 86% from a month ago. The statewide rate of transmission for Saturday was 1.09. When the transmission rate is over 1, that means each new case is leading to at least one additional case and the outbreak is expanding.
