Bad news for fans of the Battlefield license. One of the novelties of the last episode, the Hazard Zone mode, offered experiences that were out of the ordinary. The developers also continued to develop content for this mode. Unfortunately, this claim will soon no longer be a reality. Indeed, EA DICE has confirmed to stop development on the mode. This is what seems to emerge from the Battlefield Bulletin fan account, usually well informed about the news of the game:
BREAKING: EA DICE is stopping development of #Battlefield2042‘s Hazard Zone. It will stay as part of the experience, but they’re no longer actively developing new experiences or content/maps for the mode across the seasons. pic.twitter.com/kRFZoahBaR

The news will not necessarily surprise many. The servers that focused on the mode had been very sparsely populated for quite some time. Nevertheless, it remains a shame to see content that was to revolutionize the license leave.
