THOR – LOVE & THUNDER
This trailer, particularly tasty and much richer in content, shows us more seriously the character of Jane Foster. Too bad for me I always hated him and his love affair with Thor was silly as possible from the second opus all the same Kenneth Brannagh knew how to stage it well in the first one. Moreover, for me, Natalie Portman seem to be relegated to the ranks of those who think that looking dumbfounded, with your mouth slightly open, is a performance worthy of a Oscar. But let’s move on.
We can see that a fight will take place at the New Asgardwhere will meet Thor and jane. Still no sign of why she’s in control Mjollnir or how this last one was glued back together, but the magic of Jotunheim isn’t ruled out, it seems, because she appears to be using ice shards during a fight scene.
Gorrplayed by Christian Bale, is finally shown officially. Having sworn to slaughter all the gods of the universe despite coming from a particularly devout planet, Gorr will be the enemy of Thor in this opus (it will be difficult to pass after Hello embodied by Cate Blanchett) and above all seems to be at the origin of the most visually worked scenes, Waititi finally seeming to dare a real artistic bet at this level after having misled us with Ragnarok which he presented as having a link with an aesthetic retrowaveto finally not integrate any direct visual element related to this style.
Russell Crowe is also shown in Zeusand it’s a safe bet that he will have some problems with Thor since it causes a scene of… nude. Yes yes, naked. If it’s kept in the edit, it’s a giant leap for Marvel who finally offers himself a risk-taking that we had not seen since Thor first of the name…
Unfortunately, after a Dr Strange & The Multiverse of Madness much more serious, Thor seems destined to remain the service comic relief since the end of Infinity War. Hoping I’m wrong that said, but paradoxically Thor-Love & Thunder doesn’t look like the risk-taker he should be, despite looking like he does.
