IT House May 21 news, Intel on Tuesday launched Habana Gaudi2 and Habana Greco, its second-generation deep learning processors for training and inference, while sharing details of other IPUs and GPUs at the Intel Vision event.

In addition, Intel on Thursday announced two major investment plans aimed at creating more sustainable data center technology.

It is reported that the Santa Clara-based chip giant will spend more than $700 million to build a 200,000-square-foot research and development facility in Oregon. IT House understands that this large laboratory will focus on solving problems such as heat recovery and reuse, immersion cooling, and improving water efficiency.

The Hillsboro Lab will be a 200,000-square-foot facility on Intel’s Jones Farm campus that will open in 2023 to study areas such as heating, cooling and water, while testing Intel’s data center products and providing technology customer’s showroom.

At the same time, the company pledged to share an open IP reference design for immersion liquid cooling, a facility located on the Taiwanese campus that will be rolled out globally, but provided no further details beyond a picture of the immersion tank with the Intel logo. Lots of details.
