Tara Kuipers, 39, was not expecting to receive a call from her doctor with the devastating news that she had stage four metastatic breast cancer, a disease with a survival rate under 30%. A year later, Kuipers, of Midland Park, is hoping to make a difference through the organization of a Color for a Cure Fun Run, a 1-mile walk or run to raise money for research on MBC.
