Despite Babylon’s Fall struggling with tiny player counts, Square Enix doesn’t seem to be giving up its fatal live service game. Because developer Platinum Games revealed his plans for Season 2 and other updates in an interview. Is that enough to get player numbers going again?
Babylon’s fall continues
Anyone who believed that Babylon’s fall had fallen is mistaken. Because Season 2 is already on the way. Square Enix and Platinum Games are not giving up their current flop game. On the contrary: The developer studio Platinum Games speaks optimistically about the future of the game and Square Enix seems to give the green light.
In an interview, the directors Kenji Saito and Takahisa Sugiyama go into detail about the upcoming updates. Apparently, the next season will all Babylon’s Fall players with one or more entirely new regions greet.

But is that enough?
Since the release, about the same amount of gameplay content has been added as was included at the start. Something has changed graphically too. But this could not cause a turnaround.
Player counts were last on PC shockingly low: Meanwhile, the live service game only saw one player worldwide. It might look a little better on console, but that’s not a good sign.
Platinum Games not only has to deliver good content, but also to the game a new coat of paint miss. Let’s see if Season 2 can turn things around.
The second season for Babylon’s Fall is scheduled to start very soon.
