The iPod series that brought glory to Apple in the past has also been discontinued with the iPod Touch, and the entire series is coming to an end.

Apple announced today that it is officially discontinuing the iPod touch, an outdated product that can be replaced by other devices such as the iPhone and iPad. Apple says it’s phasing out the iPod touch because its features are replaceable across Apple’s entire product line.

It hasn’t been updated for three years, so the fate of the iPod touch has already been made clear. Apple said that music has always been a core part of us. Bringing it to hundreds of millions of users in the way of iPod will affect not only the music industry- -It also redefines the way music is discovered, listened to and shared,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing.

Today, the spirit of the iPod lives on. We’ve integrated incredible music experiences across all of our products, from iPhone to Apple Watch to HomePod mini, as well as Mac, iPad and Apple TV. Apple Music delivers industry-leading sound quality and supports spatial audio, and there’s no better way to enjoy, discover, and experience music.

Twenty-one years ago, in October 2001, Apple introduced the first iPod, a revolutionary music device at the time, putting thousands of songs in the pockets of Apple fans. Apple introduced many iterations of the iPod, including the iPod Shuffle, iPod nano, and iPod touch, but they were all phased out and discontinued.

The iPod touch is still available in stock through Apple’s website, Apple Retail Stores, and Apple Authorized Resellers while supplies last, so if you want something to remember, old customers can do it.
