A launch date is not yet known, but Blue Origin reveals the next crew that will take place aboard NS-21 (21th flight of the New Shepard reusable rocket) for space tourism as part of a suborbital flight.
NS-21 will be the fifth manned flight for New Shepard. The crew will consist of six people, with no particular celebrity for the media aspect. Nevertheless, there will still be a little curiosity with the presence of Evan Dick.
This engineer, investor and director of Dick Holdings is already a Blue Origin astronaut. He was a member of the crew of flight NS-19 in December 2021. Soon, he will therefore become the first Blue Origin passenger to fly for the second time.
Two sponsored seats on board New Shepard
As always, Blue Origin does not communicate on the sums paid for a seat on board New Shepard. An addition that is undoubtedly starting to become salty for Evan Dick. It is nevertheless specified that two seats among the six were sponsored.
This is the case for Katya Echazarreta, an engineer who has worked on NASA missions, with a seat sponsored by Space for Humanity and his Citizen Astronaut Program. For Victor Correa Hespanha, who is also an engineer, his seat was sponsored by the Crypto Space Agency. He presents himself as the first “cryptaunote.”
Blue Origin emphasizes that Katya Echazarreta was born in Mexico and that Victor Correa Hespanha is of Brazilian nationality. With NS-21, Blue Origin will have sent 25 people to the edge of space at an altitude of more than 100 km.
