Many years later, a build of the 2001 version of Duke Nukem Forever has now leaked.
The leak comes from a user named “x0r”, who also publishes videos and screenshots from this version.
What once was
According to the source, every chapter of the game is included “in some form” in this version and a large part is also playable. “All E3 content is playable”, writes x0r.
Also almost all weapons are available and work, exceptions are the freezer and the chainsaw.
x0r states that it wants to fully release this version in June. You can see the leaked gameplay below:

Don’t expect too much
At the same time, you shouldn’t expect too much from it. George Broussard, then director of the game, also commented on the leak.
“Yes, the leak looks real,” he writes. “No, I’m not really interested in talking about it or reliving a painful past.”
“You should lower your expectations a lot. There is no real game to play. Just a few barely populated test levels. I have no idea who leaked this.”
Yes, the leak looks real. No, I’m not really interested in talking about it or retreading a painful past. You should heavily temper expectations. There is no real game to play. Just a smattering of barely populated test levels. I have no knowledge who leaked this.
