Germany’s main centre-right party, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), is expecting to come away with a clear win on Sunday as voting started for the regional parliament in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein. The CDU currently enjoys around 38% support in Schleswig-Holstein, according to recent opinion polls, almost 20 points ahead of the Social Democrats (SPD), its nearest rival.
