The very first Battlegrounds season is upon us in Hearthstone. Then all ratings will be reset. In keeping with the new Hearthstone expansion Journey to the Sunken City, a new type of servant will be washed onto the battlefield with the Naga.
Hearthstone’s Patch 23.2, which will be released on May 10, 2022, will start the first-ever Battlegrounds season to bear the name Rise of the Naga. In the new season, the battlefield rating will be reset and a new hero and a whole new minion type, the Naga, will make their debut! in one official bog post the developers presented the first of the 16 new Naga servants together with the matching keyword spellcraft.

New Hero – Queen Azshara

The naga are of course represented by none other than Queen Azshara. She brings with her a unique hero ability that must first be unlocked when your board’s total power reaches 30 attack points. After that, your passive hero ability changes to an active ability that allows you to spot a naga minion for 1 mana.
How the new Spellcraft keyword works
Some Naga offer the unique new keyword: spellcraft! Minions with the Spellcraft keyword grant you a temporary spell each turn. This spell can unify your minions Grant a buff that lasts until the start of your next recruitment phase.
- Each minion with the Spellcraft keyword creates a Spellcraft spell each turn.
- Spellcraft effects only last until your next recruitment phase. This means you can choose each turn where you cast your spells for the next fight.
- Spellcraft spells leave your hand at the end of your turn. If you don’t use them, you lose them!
- Spellcraft spells are created immediately when you play the minion with the keyword such as at the beginning of each recruitment phase.
- If there is no slot in your hand, Spellcraft spells “wait” for a slot to open, rather than being destroyed or delayed one turn.
- Gold Spellcraft minions create gold versions of Spellcraft spells with double the potency.
- For some naga, when you cast your spells is also important. This affects Spellcraft spells, but also things like coins, bloodgems, and triplets rewards.
