Plenty of customers at the Jersey City Heights Stop & Shop left the store Wednesday with a new item that may become a part of their grocery shopping routine: a reusable bag. It was the best, and only, option, for those who came in unaware or forgetful of the statewide single-use plastic shopping bag ban that took effect Wednesday.
