Depp sues $22.5 million for ex-wife’s inability to play Captain Jack

The lawsuit between 58-year-old Johnny Depp and 38-year-old Amber Heard has resumed in recent days. The two sides accuse each other of domestic violence and defamation, and the case has intensified.

And in a recent trial, a jury in a defamation lawsuit learned of the former couple’s volatile relationship, including Amber allegedly throwing a can of Red Bull at Depp and calling him a “goddamn default” Dad”. Jurors were also told that Amber, 36, had dealt a “devastating blow” to Depp’s career after calling himself a “public figure representing domestic abuse” in an op-ed.

Johnny Depp’s agent, Jack Whigham, testified that the 2018 article thwarted Depp’s massive $22.5 million deal with Disney and that he could have reprising his role as Captain Jack.

The agent, who has represented Depp since 2016, put it this way: “After this column, there is no possibility that the team will get him another movie.”

While Depp’s name was not mentioned in Amber’s column, Depp’s team now claim that the article clearly mentioned him and ruined his career, damaged his reputation and cost him tens of millions of dollars.

At the same time, Depp’s team tried to portray Amber Heard as the abnormal person in their relationship, so Travis McGivern (Depp’s bodyguard, hereinafter referred to as McGivern) was asked during the trial. The so-called violence I witnessed during my nine years working for Depp.

The bodyguard recalled from the witness box that in 2015 in their Los Angeles loft, Amber punched Depp in the left cheek during an altercation.

The bodyguard said he had even been the object of Amber’s alleged anger, testifying that she had repeatedly belittled and ridiculed his chosen profession. “She called me a ‘yes man’ and she made personal attacks on me and my chosen profession,” he said.

Amber Hilton has always claimed that Depp abused her in multiple ways in their relationship.

Erin Falati, Hurd’s former nurse, told the jury about text messages she received from Amber with pictures of her swollen face.

But when asked what she thought of the photos, Faratai replied: “I’m not an expert…I mean she has different areas of color on her face, but I don’t know exactly what.”

As Amber’s lawyers begin presenting their case, the first witness to be called will be clinical and forensic psychologist Dr. Dawn Hughes, The Post confirmed on Monday. Because Dr. Shannon Curry, a psychologist hired by Depp’s team, conducted a 12-hour analysis of Hurd last week, he testified that the actress had borderline personality disorder and organizational personality disorder.
