In a notice to workers on Saturday, Amazon told its U.S. employees who tested positive for the new crown that they would no longer be paid for vacation.Conversely, positive employees will receivemostFive days of unpaid leaveto recover, and then whether they recover or not, return to work. If you want to continue taking time off, use your sick time.
According to CNBC, the new system is expected to bestart next monday.
IT Home understands that Amazon initially provided two weeks of paid leave for employees who tested positive for the new crown. In January, this vacation time was shortened to a week or a maximum of 40 hours, and now it is completely eliminated.
In a notice to its employees, Amazon said:
Relief from the COVID-19 outbreak, continued availability of vaccines and treatments, and updated guidance from public health authorities suggest that it is safe to continue to adjust to pre-COVID-19 work policies.
In addition to eliminating paid time off for positive employees, Amazon will alsostopNotify site-wide positive cases in its warehouses and stop encouraging employees to get vaccinated.
Additionally, because rapid testing is now widely available, Amazon will no longer accept “waiting for Covid-19 test results” as a reason for taking time off.
