By Chris Rosvoglou After spending five decades coaching college hoops, C. Vivian Stringer is officially ready to embrace the next chapter of her life. On Saturday, the legendary women’s basketball coach announced her retirement. Stringer, a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, started her coaching career at Cheyney State in 1972. She then made the jump to Iowa in 1983. It wasn’t until 1995 when she arrived at Rutgers. Over the course of her career, Stringer won 1,055 games. Her teams made 28 NCAA tournament appearances and four Final Four berths.
