After the Sim-Update 9 there are more patches and improvements for the Flight Simulator. There is good news for technology fans.
The Flight Simulator is back in rapid succession. Sim update 9 (game build 1.25.7.0) was finally released this week, and the next world update will follow soon. And for upcoming sim updates, technology fans can look forward to DLSS and FSR 2.0.
DLSS and FSR 2.0 are coming
The Sim-Update 9 has just started (see changelog), it continues in busy May and June. And in Developer Q&A on Twitch developers at Asobo and Microsoft are looking even further into the future. Specifically, it’s about Sim Update 10 (and later) and the promised DLSS. According to the developer, there are still “some artifacts and problems with animated textures and the water surfaces”, but they are working with Nvidia to fix this. Update 10 promises “a great DLSS implementation”.

But that’s not all: The Flight Simulator
is not only in direct contact with Nvidia, but also with AMD. There was a personal visit here this week and therefore you can announce that you are working on FSR 2.0. The Flight Simulator will not only soon offer the latest version of the AI anti-aliasing DLSS, but also the improved FSR from AMD, which will be expanded to include a temporal component. Like DLSS, FSR 2.0 can also reconstruct details that are lost in the pixel grid with “normal” temporal AA. However, it could be tight for the sim update 10, because that is already planned for July, even if the roadmap only lasts until the end of June. In case of doubt, AMD’s temporal upscaler will then be submitted with Sim Update 11.
As far as the near future is concerned, on 17.05. World Update 9 with Italy and Malta. In addition, on 27.05. the DLC for Top Gun Maverick. The next world update is supposed to be released in mid-June, but Microsoft showed itself to be secretive in the stream. Apparently there is still a keynote in May or June, before that you can’t give any details. In June there is another surprise that has not yet been announced, and gliders and helicopters should follow in the fall. World Update 11 is scheduled for August, with World Update 12 coming in October.
