Several of Swedbank’s customers were hit last night by an error at the bank, which means that sums of various sizes appear to have disappeared from their accounts. It is reported that people had a deficit in their accounts where they previously had from thousands to millions of kronor.
Swedbank states that it has had an IT disruption since late last night and that it causes some of their customers’ accounts to show incorrect balances. The bank does not want to say exactly what has happened, but it is said that customers’ money is safe. On its website, the bank further writes:
“Customers who consider themselves to have suffered financial damage due to our disruptions should contact the bank. We will handle the customer inquiries we receive individually according to current routines and agreements.”
Swedbank does not currently have an exact figure for how many of Swedbank’s customers have been affected by the disruptions. When the whole thing can be solved, there is also no information yet.
