Aliexpress payment from Russia does not work – they say that it is temporary

Aliexpress temporarily does not process Russian bank cards.

You all know that Visa and Mastercard payment systems left Russia due to sanctions. At first everyone thought it was a problem. But it turned out to be half the trouble, since Visa, Mastercard card payments were processed by the Russian Hnational Withsystem Ppaid Toart (NSPK) and this domestic system guaranteed the continuation of the map inside Russia. But abroad and in foreign online stores, Master and Visa cards issued in Russia stopped working. Aliexpress was a big exception – it continued to accept Visa and Mastercard cards issued in Russia. AliExpress also accepts MIR cards.

But right now, Aliexpress does not accept any Russian cards at all – we checked it ourselves!

This means that it is temporarily impossible to pay for a purchase on Ali with a Visa, Mastercard or MIR card.

Aliexpress says that these are temporary problems and they will be resolved in the near future. Until they want to pay with Russian cards on Aliexpress, Ali himself offers to pay at checkout by selecting the item “Payment by RF card or QIWI». At the same time, the payment amount is shown not in rubles, but in dollars, and in fact the payment is made through QIWI.

Here is an example

one. We select a product on Aliexpress and place it in the basket.

2. Proceed to payment and choose “Payment by RF card or QIWI“. Nothing else works and if you want to pay, you will still return to this point.

3. In the next step, you will be asked to enter the phone number to which the Qiwi wallet is linked. If you have it, of course. If not, then you won’t be able to pay at all.

4. If you have a Qiwi wallet, enter the phone number associated with it and click “Confirm”. Then I was given a blank page with an inscription at the very top: “Your payment is protected by VeriSign SSL – the strongest commercial encryption technology.”

5. Through the application or through the site, we go to our Qiwi wallet, where we are already waiting for an invoice for payment from Aliexpress.

6. We pay.
