From the developers, Sony requires a two-hour trial for games included in the PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.

For some games that Sony will offer in the future in its new PlayStation Plus subscription service, the console manufacturer apparently requires additional work from the developers in the form of a test version with special specifications.

This means that the length of this trial must include at least two hours of gameplay if the PSN Store retail price is $34 or more.

Furthermore, developers should have three months to provide such a test version after the game has been published on the PlayStation Store. If only a demo is provided instead, Sony wants to decide on a case-by-case basis whether this is approved.

These guidelines are not intended to apply retrospectively, nor do they apply to VR games as stated development circles should be called.

The launch of the new PlayStation Plus subscription service will come in June with additional price tiers. Including the PlayStation Plus Premium level, in which the said test versions can be played before purchase.
