According to a report, Projekt Q is an innovative and modern PvP battle arena game in development.

A new game codenamed Project Q is in development at Ubisoft. Insider Tom Henderson reports, citing eight different sources.

Responsible for the implementation is the Ubisoft Studio in Bordeaux, where more than 300 people work. The studio’s website has confirmed the development of a free-to-play PvP game, which is believed to be Project Q.

The name of the game appeared in the NVIDIA GeForce Now database leak last year.

Emails were recently sent out for a very first test of the game, which is said to have taken place yesterday. It describes Project Q as an “innovative and modern PvP battle arena game”.

According to the insider report, there are two game modes in Project Q: Showdown and Battle Zone.

Showdown is described as a battle royale variant with four teams of two players each.

Battle Zone, on the other hand, is the game’s battle arena mode, in which two teams of four players compete to be the first team to reach 100 points. The aim is to control an area with your team for as long as possible.

The weapons and abilities in the game can be described as unusual. Instead of dealing damage with an assault rifle or submachine gun, players use things like firecrackers, sticks, decks of cards, hammers, or paint guns.

Thanks to unique abilities like Icarus’ wings, it’s possible to jump or fly through the air.

The game’s graphic style is said to be reminiscent of games like Knockout City and Overwatch. First testers say that the title is still in a very early phase of implementation.

In addition to Project Q, another Battle Royale game called Pathfinder is said to be in development at Ubisoft.
