Prices for smartphones and gadgets jumped in Ukraine

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, a number of goods have risen in price. In particular, prices for consumer electronics have changed. The cost of smartphones, tablets and other gadgets has increased by at least 10%. What has gone up and by how much?

Smartphones
To track price changes, we used the E-Katalog portal. According to this resource, one of the most popular 128 GB Apple iPhone Xr devices was sold for UAH 16,992 until February 24. At the same time, with the beginning of the war, its price jumped to UAH 18,222. But these were still flowers, because at the end of March they already asked for 20,641 UAH for a smartphone. However, it is worth noting that in the first half of April, the gadget fell in price by about 1,000 hryvnias.

For comparison, a novelty from Samsung – the 5 GB Galaxy A52s model has soared in price by almost UAH 3,000 since the introduction of martial law. At the end of March, the cost of a smartphone was UAH 14,513. However, only in the last two weeks the price dropped to UAH 13,166.

The leader of the mass market niche Xiaomi Redmi 10 for the first month of the war “scored” a little more than 1.3 thousand UAH and reached the price mark of 6790 UAH. And by mid-April, it has risen in price by another 63 hryvnia. up to 6853 UAH.

Gadgets
The cost of smart watches after a month of hostilities in Ukraine is also not encouraging. For example, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Active device, which cost UAH 6,220 in February, reached UAH 7,200 by mid-March. True, before April 14, he managed to fall in price by almost 1,000 hryvnias.

Meanwhile, the Apple Watch, specifically the Model 6 Aluminum, hasn’t changed the price as dramatically. From February to March, its cost increased by up to 2 thousand UAH. In the first days of April, the gadget cost UAH 14,830. And by the middle of the month, its price fell to UAH 14,350.

Tablets
The Xiaomi Pad 5 tablet, popular in Ukraine, cost UAH 12,191 in mid-February. At the end of March, its price fixed at UAH 14,733. And as of today, 14290 UAH are asked for a popular model.

Another top seller Galaxy Tab S6 Lite from Samsung has risen in price for the first month of the war by UAH 2.2 thousand to UAH 12,598. In April, its price continued to grow and now they are asking for at least 13146 UAH for the device.
