WhatsApp is testing the ability to hide in-app activity status from specific users. The feature is already available in beta, there were rumors about its addition earlier. This is reported WABetaInfo.

In WhatsApp, the app’s last seen status lets other users know when someone last opened the app. It can tell if a person checked the app even if they didn’t read the message or reply to it.

At the moment, in the stable version of the messenger, there are three groups of people to which you can limit the display of this status – “Everyone”, “My Contacts” and “Nobody”. The fourth one will appear in the update – “My contacts, except for …”. This tool will allow you to block certain people from seeing your last visit status.

Earlier, WhatsApp revealed the details of a big update. He is preparing the coolest feature – communities. It will be possible to combine current group chats in them. Even Telegram does not have such an opportunity.
